Chalk up two more wins for the Chapmanville Middle School boys' basketball team.
The Tigers now stand at 9-0 after wins over George Washington and Man. CMS toppled George Washington Middle School 53-28 last Saturday after downing county rival Man Middle School, 43-26, last Thursday.
Chapmanville started slow but finished strong against GW.
The Tigers trailed after one quarter 8-6 but then stepped it up in the second quarter, scoring 14 and holding GW to only four points.
CMS led at the half 20-12. The second half was much of the same as the Tigers outpointed George Washington 16-4.
The Tiger reserves saw most of the action in the fourth quarter.
The win moved the Tigers into a first place tie with Poca in the conference standings. The two teams are undefeated in league and were slated to meet on Thursday night.
Brody Dalton led the Tigers with 23 points. Trey Butcher had 13, Devon Workman seven, Adam Mullins four, Brayden Likens three and Landon Tomblin two.
In the Man game, CMS earned the season sweep with a win over the Pioneers.
Chapmanville led 12-6 after one quarter and 24-18 at the half. Both teams netted nine points in the third period as CMS led 33-27.
Dalton paced the Tigers with 19 points, Butcher had nine, Workman and Tomblin had five each. Mullins added three and Payton Brown two.
LOGAN MIDDLE 43, WINFIELD 34: The Logan Middle School boys' basketball team ran its record to 8-1 on the season with Tuesday's 43-34 win at Winfield.
Garrett Williamson led LMS with a double-double effort of 17 points, 11 rebounds and two assists. Aiden Slack had 13 points, five boards and two assists.
Parker Davis had 11 points and three boards. Reece Carden chipped in with two points.
The T-Wolves play on Saturday at Huntington.
