LOGAN - It was a resounding Senior Night win on Monday night at Logan High School's Willie Akers Arena as the homestanding Lady Cats rolled to a 73-51 victory over county and sectional rival Man.
Logan (13-8) placed four players in double digit scoring, led by senior Britney Welch's 20 points. Freshman Peyton Ilderton tossed in 19 points, while seniors Kaileah Williams and Alexis Perry netted 12 and 10 points respectively.
Zoe Browning, Logan's fourth senior who has battled injuries all season, finished with two points.
Logan also got eight points from sophomore Jill Tothe and two from Reyvin Cottle.
Tothe and Welch each canned a pair of 3-pointers in the win.
Man (2-19) was led by Rileigh Bowen's 12 points and 11 from Karissa Anderson. Olivia Ramsey netted five, Carlee Muncy three and Allie Meade and Macy Cline each added a bucket.
The Lady Cats led 22-13 after one quarter and outscored Man 21-16 in the second to grab a 43-29 halftime lead.
Logan's 21-13 edge in the third pushed the lead to 64-42. Both teams scored nine points in the fourth quarter to set the final score.
Both teams have one game left to play in the regular season.
Logan hosts Class A Tolsia on Wednesday at 7 p.m., while the Lady Billies were slated to travel to River View on Tuesday night.
The six-team Class AA sectional tournament is set to begin on Saturday, Feb. 16, with the semifinals set for Feb. 19 and the championship game slated for Feb. 22.
