HUNTINGTON – The Thundering Herd’s 2020 spring football practices have been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Marshall Athletics announced Friday.
The drills were to have begun Sunday inside Joan C. Edwards Stadium.
The department will re-evaluate the possibility of holding the practices at a later date.
The NCAA has also suspended all on and off-campus recruiting for all sports until April 15 and announced Thursday that all 2020 winter and spring championships have been cancelled.
"This situation is unprecedented," Marshall football coach Doc Holliday said in a statement. "The health, safety and well-being of our student-athletes, coaches and staff are paramount in these uncertain times. We're hoping to return to some sense of normalcy sooner rather than later."
