MAN - Conner Mullins and Chase Berry combined to toss a one-hitter as the Chapmanville Regional High School baseball team blanked Man 7-0 on Tuesday night at Man.

Mullins pitched 6.1 innings of scoreless ball, allowing only one hit, while striking out 17 and walking just one batter.

Berry then got the final two outs to preserve the win as the Tigers improved to 3-0 on the season.

Man dropped to 1-1 with the loss.

The Hillbillies' Dylan McCormick broke up the no-hit bid with a one out single in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Chapmanville plated two runs in the top of the first, four in the fourth and one in the seventh.

The Tigers had seven hits in the game and took advantage of five errors by the Hillbillies. CRHS had just one fielding error.

Casey Hurley was 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Chapmanville. Brennan Williams was 2-for-4, while Cole Ferrell went 2-for-3. Braxton Manns added a hit and Garrett Adkins added one RBI.

Josh Lambert was the starting and losing pitcher. He didn't survive the first inning. McCormick, Ryan Cozart and Cameron Frye pitched in relief.

Man was scheduled to play at Sherman on Thursday. The Billies host Belfry, Kentucky on Friday at 5:30 p.m. The Tigers play at Poca on Friday at 7 and host Oak Hill on Saturday at 2.

SOFTBALL

MAN 3, LOGAN 1: The Man High School softball team took advantage of seven Logan errors and won 3-1 on Tuesday night at Logan.

Man (1-0) scored two runs in the top of the third and one in the sixth. Logan (1-2) scored its only run in the bottom of the third.

Shaina Kennedy was the starting and winning pitcher for the Lady Billies.

Jaycee Abbott started and was the pitcher of record for Logan. She tossed six innings and struck out seven. Emma Vinson pitched one inning in relief.

Logan outhit Man 7-4. Abby Baisden and Ashlyn Conley had two hits each for Logan.

WAYNE 7, LOGAN 1: The Logan softball team dropped to 1-2 overall and 1-1 in the Cardinal Conference with Wednesday's 7-1 loss at Wayne.

Whitney Sansom and Olivia Maynard had two hits each for Wayne. Both teams had seven hits for the game.

Tied 1-1, Wayne plated a run in the fourth and five more in the fifth.

Sansom was also the winning pitcher as she went 5.1 innings and struck out two. Raegan Roach pitched the last 1.2 innings in relief.

Logan was slated to host Scott on Thursday. LHS plays at Nitro on Friday at 5:30 p.m. and hosts Mingo Central on Monday at 5:30.

CHAPMANVILLE 13, POCA 0: Sierra Cook and Tabitha Adkins combined to toss a no-hitter as the Chapmanville Regional High School softball team won 13-0 over Poca in three innings on Wednesday's at Chapmanville's Ronnie Ooten Field.

Cook was the starting and winning pitcher and fanned five. Adkins tossed the last inning and struck out two.

Ashleigh Mahon doubled twice and had four RBI to lead the Lady Tigers' bats. Shea Pridemore had a pair of singles. Cook had a double and two RBI, while K.K. Davis doubled and drove in one run. Kaitlin Moore and Amber Richards each added singles.

Chapmanville improved to 2-1 overall and 1-1 in the Cardinal Conference. CRHS was slated to play at Herbert Hoover on Thursday weather permitting, before hosting Wayne on Friday at 5:30 p.m. Chapmanville hosts Hoover on Monday at 5:30.

CHAPMANVILLE 12, MINGO CENTRAL 0: Pitcher Tabitha Adkins notched a one-hitter on the bump as Chapmanville blanked Mingo Central 12-0 on Tuesday at home. Adkins fanned eight in the three-inning game and added a single and an RBI at the plate.

Claire Dingess had a three-run triple for Chapmanville. Shea Pridemore and Mikayla Tomblin both doubled.

Tonya McCormick had a single and two RBIs. Ashleigh Mahon, Bailee Belcher, Sierra Cook and Amber Richards all had singles. Bella Grace had the Miners' only hit, a single.
